US Federal government agencies awarded US$11 billion in IT-related prime contracts during the second quarter of fiscal year 2005 (2Q FY05); Federal information security spending will grow 20 percent over the next five years from US$6.1 billion in fiscal year 2005 to US$7.3 billion in fiscal year 2010 (FY10), information security has become the single most critical component of information systems investments across all federal agencies and programs; Overall information technology (IT) spending will grow from $71 billion in fiscal year 2005 to $92 billion by fiscal year 2010 (FY10); the driving forces behind the increased spending are efforts to protect the US homeland and secure system vulnerabilities, as well as the need to streamline federal agency business processes.

USATRADE is not affiliated with any government related bodies. We are a private firm, incorporated in California since 1990
The new Australia-United States Free Trade Agreement is a landmark agreement that provides Australian businesses open access to the world’s largest market. The US economy is over 26 times the size of the Australian market. Each of the top seven US States have economies larger than the entire Australian economy. The US Department of Homeland Security alone has a FY 2005 procurement budget in excess of US$40 billion. Significant export opportunities have been created through the reduction of tariffs, the easing of market restrictions, and an obligation to provide ‘national treatment’ that ensures that Australian firms will be given open access to the US$200B US government market. This means that Australian businesses can now compete in the US market, and sell to the US government on equal terms with their US competitors.
